Job DescriptionThe Apex Group is seeking a highly qualified Sales Engineer that will be responsible for assisting the sales team in Content Delivery, Internet Broadcasting and network-based Security (DDoS) services to Middle East enterprises in the following segments: Media & Entertainment, Financials, E-Tailers, and Web Portals.

Technical Requirements
  • Advanced working understanding of data/internet applications, communications technology and network design
    • Knowledge of internet network topologies, internet routing, BGP & TCP/IP
    • Strong understanding of DNS / BIND
    • Expertise with the HTTP protocol – HTTP 1.1
  • Understanding of SSL and web security best practices (PCI, CISSP)
  • Solid understanding of HTML, and web application concepts and architectures
  • Expertise in at least one of these technologies:
    • Content delivery, storage and application architectures
    • Caching architectures, and modes of caching
    • Live or Video on Demand Streaming
    • Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) prevention applications such as IDS or IDP
    • Network-based IP security systems

Technical Preferred Skills The Sales Engineer position will have a primary focus on a key set of our products and the rest of our services will be taught to the Sales Engineer through intensive training courses.

Below are the preferred skills that are nice to have, but not required, for this position:
  • Content Delivery
    • Experience with Mobile Web Development and mobile technologies
    • Web server or CMS deployments - configuring web server or CMS platforms in a Web 2.0 environment is nice to have
    • Experience with protocol analyzers such as Fiddler, Charles, Firebug, Wireshark, tcpdump etc. Wget/Curl is a plus
    • Experience with web performance measuring tools such as Keynote, Gomez, Catchpoint is preferred
    • Familiarity with the Unix shell and scripting languages such as perl and python is a plus
    • Experience with back-end Web Development (js,css,php,asp,jsp) and implementing YSLOW or Google Page Speed web site performance
  • Internet Broadcasting
    • Content creation workflow (content acquisition, encoding, and content & metadata management)
    • Content protection, geo-targeting, advertising & DRM technologies o Primary formats: (Flash, Smooth, Windows Media, iPhone etc.)
    • Media server features & functionalities
  • Security
    • Significant Computer and Internet protocol knowledge including DNS, BGP, TCP/IP, HTTP/ HTTPS along with a focus on Internet Security
    • CISSP, CCIE, CCNP, JNCIP a plus

Essential Duties
  • Customer Meetings and Meeting Preparation: Attends customer meetings in person and via the phone. Prepares moderately complex level technical proposals and presentations. Provides detailed scope responses to product and industry questions. Demonstrates proficient solution selling abilities and effective, pro-active customer communications. Provides technical responses in RFI/RFP documents. Interacts with all levels of customer's management team.
  • Customer Solution Development: Analyzes customers business needs and develops intermediate range strategies based on knowledge of customer's challenge. Independently completes moderately difficult, custom designs.
  • Internal and External Training: Advises customers and sales on technical aspects of company products including fit to customer's needs, features, availability, etc.
  • Process Improvement: Will utilize expertise developed in executing the above duties to help streamline and improve Sales and SE processes. SE is responsible for regularly recommending product improvements and proposing new solutions to management team.
  • Customer Advocate: Acts as customer advocate as necessary for pre-sales activities and post-sales implementation activities. Serving as main technical point of contact until implementation period is complete.
  • Thought leadership/Process Improvement: Internal feedback loop to product & sales leadership teams on customer experience, product features/functionality, Service Implementation/Management. Provides training to internal groups.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong command of English written and spoken language
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in selling and supporting regional content producers including, entertainment, web content and broadcast accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex sales and/or implementation processes
  • Experience working for multi-national or US/UK technology company
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction and ability to provide assistance to sales force.
  • Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 50%)

Preferred Personal Skills
  • Strong command of English written and spoken language
  • Resided in Western Europe or North America
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial work experience

Compensation Attractive compensation package includes base salary, sales commission, health care, and travel expense reimbursement. Commensurate upon experience.
